Our bitesize course, Looked-After Children, explores why children move into care and the effects of family separation. It provides strategies on how to understand and support this vulnerable and disadvantaged group of children, so they can reach their full educational potential with good emotional wellbeing.

The Training

By the end of this course, learners should understand:
  • the definition of looked-after children
  • the reasons children are moved into care
  • the effects of family separation
  • the vulnerability of looked-after children
  • the aim of a Personal Education Plan (PEP) and Care Plan
  • understand that sexual harassment can happen in any workplace
  • strategies to support looked-after children, emotionally and academically, to help them reach their full potential through positive relationships within a trusted and safe environment
 

Final Test

This course has been accredited by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development Guidelines. On successful completion, you can download or print your certificates from the learner management system.

 

Duration

The entire course and test should take approximately 20 minutes. This course is certified on completion. The length of time you take is entirely dependent on how quickly you can study and absorb the information. Remember, it’s important to learn the content and not to rush through the course. Please do take notes during these courses.
