Our bitesize course, Lone Working, examines the definitions of lone working and lone building working in early years. It explores how and why they may occur and outlines employer responsibilities to prevent harm and protect both adults and children.

The Training

By the end of this course, learners should understand:
  • the definition of lone working in early years
  • the possible risks to adults and children from lone working
  • situations when lone working may occur
  • possible reasons a staff member may not be able to lone work with children
  • the definition of lone building working in early years
  • the risks of lone building working
  • situations when lone building working may occur
  • what an employer must do: risk assessments and risk management
 

Final Test

This course has been accredited by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development Guidelines. On successful completion, learners can download or print their certificate from the learner management system.

 

Duration

The entire course and test should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. However, the duration may vary depending on individual learning speed. Learners are encouraged not to rush and to take notes during the course.
