Our bitesize course explores the sensitive issue of appropriate touching in early years. It includes the need for practitioner accountability, the likely reasons for touching, physical intervention, common practitioner concerns and the importance of policies.

The Training

By the end of this course, learners should understand:

  • reasons for a practitioner using touch in positive ways, in response to a child’s needs
  • professional considerations when using touch
  • appropriate physical intervention by a professional
  • consistency within the setting through clear policies
  • the importance of children understanding the differences between appropriate and inappropriate touching
  • how to approach teaching children about good touching and bad touching

 

Final Test

This course has been accredited by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development Guidelines. On successful completion, you can download or print your certificates from the learner management system.

 

Duration

The entire course and test should take approximately 15 minutes.
