Our Role of the SENCO course examines this crucial role in an early years setting and includes the SENCO’s responsibilities, the legalities, the personal qualities needed, policies and procedures and Ofsted’s approach to inspecting SEN.

The Training

On completing the course, learners should understand:

  • the responsibilities of an early years SENCO
  • the impact on outcomes with an effective SENCO
  • the importance of advising and supporting colleagues
  • the need to identify children with SEN and meet individual needs
  • the effective relationships needed with parents which helps inform processes
  • the procedures involved in working with other agencies and professionals
  • the role of the Area SENCO
  • Ofsted’s approach to assessing SEN provision

 

Final Test

This course has been accredited by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to the universally accepted Continuous Professional Development Guidelines. On successful completion, you can download or print your certificates from the learner management system.

 

Duration

The entire course and test should take approximately one hour.

This course is certificated on completion. The length of time you take is entirely dependent on how quickly you can study and absorb the information. Remember, it’s important to learn the content and not to rush through the course. Please do take notes during these courses.
