The role of the Health and Safety Officer covers a variety of areas, including risk assessments, fire drills, access for the disabled, food and electrical safety. It also investigates setting security, hazardous substances, hygiene, accidents and first aid. This course provides you with 4 modules: The Role of a Health and Safety Officer, The Role of a Health and Safety Officer in your nursery, The Role of Ofsted and Important Documents/Organisations.
On completing the course learners will:
- Know the basic principles of the role of a designated health and safety officer in the workplace and about the legal responsibilities
- Understand the basic procedures and preventions to follow when it comes to health and safety
- Have skills and knowledge to deal with a variety of health and safety situations
- Be sufficiently trained in the basic principles and practices of a designated health and safety officer

Once you have completed the online training, you will be able to take the final test.
- You will be asked 15 questions.
- You will require an 80% pass mark.
- You can take the test as many times as you need.
